Abel Klainbaum has shot and directed shows for Animal Planet, and served as cinematographer for programs in various cable networks, including HBO, A&E and TLC. The last documentary that he worked on as a cinematographer, MONICA & DAVID (CineMia/HBO), was nominated for a 2011 Emmy Award.

His experimental film, THE HISTORY OF CHOKING, was featured in both the New York and Chicago Underground Festivals.

When not filming or directing documentaries, Klainbaum can be found taking photographs or playing Americana & Klezmer music with friends in Athens, Georgia.
